Our work together starts and ends with you.

I've spent a lot of time building this career. I don't want to start over.

I work with people like you: people who are frustrated in their jobs but are not sure how to make a change. I help them change their focus from rewriting their resumes to redesigning their work. We work together to construct something different.

Putting your needs first.

I don't have the time to think about changing my work - I am too busy working.

I worked with a client who had changed careers but was dissatisfied with the new career he had chosen. Our work together focused on ways to help him get clear on his values, skills and strengths so that he could design work that worked for him.

His advice: "Traditional career assessment tools provide information - dialogue with an experienced career counselor creates opportunities."

Having too many choices.

I don't know what I would do.

I had a highly creative client who had identified multiple options for work. He was feeling scattered and frustrated with his lack of progress. I helped him redirect his energy from roaming for work possibilities to identifying his most important values. This change led him to target a company that was in synch with his values. He is now their Chief Marketing Officer.

His advice: "Find work by first identifying your needs, not by responding to job opportunities."

Work has lost meaning.

I can't afford to quit.

This client had invested the past 10 years working in a field and for a company that she had outgrown. She knew that the work she was doing was no longer meaningful, but she was unsure how to create a different career. As a result of our work she was able to prepare a plan for leaving the company, building on her strengths, rediscovering her skills and interests and designing more meaningful work.

Her advice: "Redesign your work by specifying your requirements - not by updating your resume."

Stuck in the wrong job.

I am too old to change careers.

This woman knew that she was in the "wrong job" but was unable to decide if she wanted to leave or stay. We identified the obstacles - both real and imagined - that had been preventing her from making a move. Once she recognized why she was stuck, she left the company and the work she was doing.

Her advice: "To make a change you first need to address what is in your way."

It's time to make a change.

"Gibson is a joy to work with. She advised me well in my search for the right career to go with my dreams and needs. I highly recommend her."
